Aligned with Uzbekistan's national water conservation strategy, the Water Sector Development Concept (2020–2030), the Green Economy Strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Academy continuously improves water efficiency through smart infrastructure, consumption monitoring, water-saving technologies, responsible wastewater management and environmental awareness.

Water stewardship at the Academy combines institutional governance, engineering solutions, operational monitoring and community engagement to reduce water consumption, protect water resources and strengthen long-term environmental resilience.

The Academy operates an integrated water management system coordinated by the Administrative Affairs Department.

The system combines smart water metering, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, consumption analysis and monthly performance reporting to ensure efficient water use across academic, administrative and residential buildings.

Water consumption is continuously monitored, enabling early leak detection, rapid maintenance response and evidence-based planning for future efficiency improvements.

A unified system for water security and efficiency

The Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has implemented a comprehensive Water Conservation Programme designed to improve water efficiency, reduce potable water consumption and strengthen long-term water security across the campus. The programme integrates smart water monitoring, water-saving technologies, preventive maintenance, efficient sanitary infrastructure, responsible water-use practices and continuous performance evaluation into a unified water management system.

Recognizing water security as one of Uzbekistan's national sustainability priorities, the Academy aligns its institutional practices with the Water Sector Development Concept (2020–2030) and other national environmental strategies. Through continuous monitoring, evidence-based management and environmental awareness initiatives, the Academy promotes responsible water consumption, minimizes unnecessary water losses and contributes to sustainable water resource management in support of national and global sustainability goals.

Rainwater reuse and groundwater recharge

Rainwater management forms an integral part of the Academy's climate adaptation strategy. Rainwater collected from rooftops and paved surfaces is stored and reused for landscape irrigation, while extensive infiltration areas enhance groundwater recharge, reduce stormwater runoff, and strengthen campus resilience against extreme weather events.

Closing the urban water cycle

The Academy follows circular water management principles by maximizing the reuse of available water resources and ensuring environmentally responsible wastewater treatment.

Rainwater reuse, centralized wastewater treatment and future greywater applications collectively reduce freshwater demand and strengthen long-term water sustainability.

Circular Water Strategy

All campus wastewater is transferred to Tashkent Suv Ta'minoti LLC, where it undergoes advanced multi-stage treatment at the Salor Wastewater Treatment Plant before safely re-entering the urban water cycle. Organic sludge generated during treatment is recovered for agricultural use, supporting circular economy principles.

The Academy is also preparing to introduce a greywater recycling system for irrigation, toilet flushing, and technical applications to further reduce dependence on potable water resources.

Water-efficient campus systems

Approximately 98% of sanitary fixtures across the campus have been upgraded to water-efficient technologies. Touchless faucets, dual-flush toilets, low-flow fixtures and smart plumbing systems significantly reduce potable water consumption while maintaining high operational performance and user comfort.

Together with intelligent monitoring and preventive maintenance, these technologies support continuous improvements in campus water efficiency.

Natural landscaping is complemented by efficient irrigation technologies, while modern sanitary systems minimize unnecessary water losses throughout academic, residential, and administrative facilities.

Reliable sources with reduced pressure on municipal resources

The Academy utilizes multiple sustainable water sources to ensure reliable supply while reducing pressure on municipal resources.

Treated water supplied by Tashkent Suv Ta'minoti LLC supports daily campus operations, while artesian water and harvested rainwater are used primarily for landscape irrigation. Safe drinking water is additionally provided through purified 19-liter containers supplied by Montella LLC.

The Academy manages campus water resources through a continuous Plan – Implement – Monitor – Improve cycle supported by smart digital technologies.

Water consumption is monitored using SWEM Ultrasonic Water Meters integrated with the digital platform of Tashkent Suv Ta'minoti, enabling real-time monitoring, leak detection, monthly performance analysis and evidence-based infrastructure planning.

Continuous digital monitoring supports preventive maintenance, rapid response to abnormal consumption and ongoing improvements in operational water efficiency.
